Avocado Banana Chocolate Mousse – Avocado dessert

You know I have got an addiction for avocado dessert right? There is so many avocado recipes on this blog – especially dessert !  Avocado is my favorite ingredient to add a creamy texture into dairy free dessert. It is full of healthy fat, protein and tasteless in chocolate dessert. I successfully made raw chocolate avocado truffles in the past and this new raw avocado dessert is another great success !

You will be amazed to see how easy it is to make this avocado banana chocolate mousse.

That is the 4 simple ingredients you need:

  • Ripe avocado – that is important to avoid lumps in your mousse
  • Ripe banana – or medium ripe. Add 4 tablespoon of sweetener for medium ripe banana, only 2 for ripe banana. See recipe note
  • Maple syrup – or any liquid sweetener like brown rice syrup or honey
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder

Peanut butter ganache

I know, I said 4 ingredients – well, it depends if you fancy the delicious peanut butter ganache on top! Honnestly, I highly recommend it ! Peanut butter and chocolate is best combo of flavor. Believe me, I tested this in my healthy chocolate peanut butter cookies and it is BOMB!

The ganache is so easy to make that you shouldn’t  leave it out, you only need 3 ingredients:

  • Peanut butter – I use organic 100% runny peanut butter with no added oil or sweetener or salt
  • Extra virgin coconut oil – melted, please don’t use another oil or the ganache won’t firm up
  • Maple syrup

Simply look at this spoon : layer of creamy fluffy chocolate mousse topped with thick melt-in-your mouth peanut butter ganache? Sooo, what do you say ?

How does it taste?

This avocado chocolate mousse doesn’t taste avocado at all ! If you are using ripe avocado it won’t leave any lumps. You will create the most creamy chocolate mousse on earth – with no eggs, no dairy and healthy fat. I used to make a French chocolate mousse recipe in the past, the taste of both are very similar. This avocado mousse has a stronger chocolate pudding texture and lovely chocolate flavor. It is easier to digest and my kids love it too  !

  1. Can you tell me which liquid sweetener you use? I need to cut the sugar carbs for a diabetic… thinking sugar free maple syrup might work… ideas?

    • Sure! There is two brands that I love. I am using natural sugar free syrup made of Monk fruit. This one from Lakanto here or this one from choc zero here Enjoy them and good luck on cutting carbs and sugar. This sounds tough at first but I have got plenty of bread and sweet alternatives on this blog that will help you enjoying tasty and easy recipes everyday without blowing your carb count. XOXO Carine.
