DIY Christmas Ornament Balls is what I am making each year for my family. Homemade Christmas food gift are the most simple and touching gift for your loved ones. I love to fill them with a healthy gluten free brownie mix because everyone enjoy a guilt-free brownie after Christmas! I use goji berries, dark chocolate chips and pistachios in the mix to enhance the Christmas colors.
Last year I sent those to my diabetic mum in France. She loves my sugar free baking creation. As it takes 10 days to deliver a package to France from New Zealand, fresh baking does not taste great after such a long time. So this is how I share my recipe with mum. In a Christmas ornament ball! I used my sugar free brownie recipe here and I switch the pecan nuts for pistachio and goji berries to add some green and red colors.
DIY Christmas Ornament Christmas Balls Tutorial
This is the steps-by-steps tutorial to make those lovely sugar free brownie mix Christmas ornament balls.
1/ Place the Christmas ornament ball onto a bowl to keep the ball stable. Make a funnel using a piece of paper and place the funnel on top of the opened ball. Note: if you buy the Empty plastic ornament balls on Amazon they open fully so you will not need to proceed like this. Simply open the ball and pour the mix inside.
3. Start filling the ball in this order : 1/2 cup almond meal, 1/2 cup coconut flour, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 2 tbsp. erythritol – I used Natvia, 2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder, 4 oz sugar free chocolate chips, 1/4 cup goji berries and 1/4 cup pistachio.
4. Close the ball using glue to seal the plug on top of the ball.
5. Add a lovely Christmas ribbon on the plug to allow your guest to hang the ball on the Christmas tree
