Prosciutto Pizza with a crispy thin gluten free pizza base
On Saturday morning I have been to the Auckland Gluten free Show and it was SO amazing! I meet lots of great products and I tested lots of delcious food too. Here, I meet the fabulous team from Bakeworks. They were baking pizza during the show to offer to people to try it. They used their new gluten free pizza base – if you read me for a while you know I love it! – and the smell of freshly baked pizza simply makes me crave for a fresh pizza when I get back home. SO saturday night was pizza night in my house and I made this simple Prosciutto Pizza to warm up the whole family. I topped the gluten free pizza base with home made tomato paste, fresh mozzarella and whole tomatoes. That is the secret of this gorgeous pizza ! I bake it with the whole tomato grape on top which add a lovely juicy tomato flavor without saying that this food presentation impress my family !
I added the prosciutto ham after I baked the pizza as well as the fresh basil leaves. I don’t recommend to add those ingredient before baking the pizza. I noticed that when cooked the prosciutto ham burn, release fat and lose all its flavor. Yes, I tried as you can see on the picture above the first pizza was baked with the ham on the base and I did not really like it. Same for the basil ! Also the balance of the warm pizza base with cold ham is absolutely divine and bring this Prosciutto Pizza to the next level.
It was not the first time that I bake pizza using the gluten free pizza base from bakeworks and I must say I adore them. The ingredients they are made of are very healthy, it is also vegan and egg free so perfect for anyone with food allergy. It bakes in less than 10 minutes and it is a thin crispy base that is easily to eat. You won’t believe it is gluten free!
I love pizza and I would love even more to hear what is your favorite pizza toppings?
Come on don’t be shy, share it with me !
