How To Cook Spinach

Cooking spinach is easy, it can be accommodated in many recipes.

Eating It Raw

The easiest way to prepare spinach is to eat it raw.

When consuming raw spinach, it’s essential to first wash it.

Many spinach cultures use chemicals and fertilizers extensively, and since spinach leaves are quite large, they can gather a lot of droplets.

Raw spinach is perfect for a Strawberry Spinach Salad or a Spinach Caprese Salad.

Cooking In Frying Pan

Spinach is delicious when it’s cooked as it wilts and immensely reduces in size.

A cup of fresh spinach turns into a tablespoon of cooked spinach.

Pan-Fried spinach can be used in delicious lunch recipes like my Spinach Quiche or my Spinach Omelette.

How To Boil Spinach

Boiling spinach consists in pouring boiling water on spinach in a large mixing bowl.

You can achieve the same result by putting fresh spinach in a saucepan full of boiling water or by steaming the spinach.

Pouring boiling water on spinach is the technique that is the most energy efficient.

Boiled spinach is perfect for making appetizers like Spinach Balls or my Keto Taco Shells.

How To Store Spinach

Fresh Spinach can be stored for up to 10 days in the fridge.

The best way to keep them for longer is to keep them in their sealed plastic bag.

If the bag has already been opened, wrap the spinach in a paper towel and place it in an airtight container.

Keep it as far as possible from bananas and apples that produce ethylene, a chemical compound that accelerates wilting.

Cooked spinach can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

You can also freeze cooked spinach for up to three months in the freezer.
